Tabitha’s Toys Charity was set up in memory of Tabitha Lees-Moore, a very special little girl from Weardale in County Durham who was born with a rare condition called Edwards Syndrome.
Many parents and carers cannot take their children to sensory rooms in sports centres or schools as the children are often too poorly, transport maybe a problem and some children may need the equipment at special times that suit them, like three o’clock in the morning as many have poor sleep patterns. Therefore, it is essential that these children have this equipment at home.
The charity’s aim is to loan sensory toys and equipment to children who are disabled and have complex needs.
We are able to loan Toys and Equipment to children who are in receipt of Disability Living Allowance, the loan period is 6 months. This a free service. We can loan toys and equipment to children 0 to 16 years who live in the North East of England.
